Introduction
Spotted (the "App") is developed by Hi There Studio. This policy explains what data we handle so the game can work nearby and online.
Nearby play (Bluetooth)
When you stay in the game, the App uses Bluetooth Low Energy to discover nearby players and exchange game messages (such as profile announcements and spot actions). Discovery is based on device proximity. We do not track your GPS location for this purpose. On some Android devices the system may still ask for location permission because Bluetooth scanning historically required it; we do not use that for mapping or tracking.
Online profile & rankings
Your display name, avatar configuration, and player ID are stored on your device and synced to Spotted's backend so other players can load your avatar. Local spot points are handled on-device over Bluetooth; period rankings and leaderboards are fetched from our servers when you have an internet connection. You can hide yourself from local rankings in Profile.
Camera and photos
Optional: if you build an avatar from a selfie or photo, the App may ask for camera or photo library access. Images are used on-device for avatar matching and are not required if you design an avatar manually.
Third parties
Guest avatars may use open-source DiceBear styles. Optional Snapchat / Bitmoji login uses Snap's Login Kit under Snap's terms when enabled. We do not sell your personal information for advertising.
Children
Spotted is not intended for children. See our Child Safety page for standards and how to contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
